About
Faith Hynoski is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. Certification requires references from a veterinarian, a colleague and client, completing 300+ hrs of training, as well as taking a comprehensive 4 hour exam. Educational requirements must also be met yearly to maintain CPDT-KA status. Faith holds a Certificate in Canine Studies from the NW School of Canine Studies (NWSCS) in Seattle, USA. She is a Professional Premium member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) USA, a full member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) Australia and a Dog Training Full Professional member of the Pet Professional Guild (Australia). She is a supporting member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) and is currently working on her IAABC behavior certification. She is an AKC (American Kennel Club) Canine Good Citizen (AKC) evaluator and a licensed Family Paws Parent Educator (FPPE).
Faith regularly attends workshops & seminars held by well-respected behavior professionals in order to stay up-to-date on advances in behavior counseling.
Faith has owned and adored dogs, and in fact all animals, her whole life. As a child, she exhibited a natural ability to understand and assist dogs that were exhibiting fear and aggression. She had success in these endeavors even before having the theoretical knowledge to support her actions. However, it would take her many years before she would realize her passion for dog training would lead to a full-time career. It was only after adopting Zoe; her recently deceased American Pit Bull Terrier that everything changed. Zoe was extremely excitable, not at all food motivated, highly intelligent, and was so social that she assumed every person (or animal) was going to be her best friend, even if they did not feel the same. Zoe proved to excel at any challenge set for her; including agility and flyball (though she was more motivated to seek out people, rather than the tennis balls). She earned her AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) and also proved to be an amazing therapy dog while registered as a Pet Partner with the Delta Society USA and Project Canine in Seattle. Zoe lost her fight with cancer at the age of 10yrs in 2016. We adopted Zack; a lovely American Staffordshire Terrier x American Bulldog, who earned his CGC title soon after joining our family. After exhausting many other volunteer roles at the Seattle Humane Society, Faith decided to join the fostering program at the SHS in September 2010 and soon learned that she was a failure as a foster parent when she could not part with her foster dog, and as such welcomed Juju, a sweet Staffordshire Bull Terrier, into her household.
Faith was the President & Co-Founder of Families Against Breed Bans; an organization formed to fight breed specific legislation and to encourage responsible dog ownership (2008-2011). She was employed as an Adoptions Counselor at the Seattle Humane Society 2010-2011, and volunteered weekly in the DBS (Dog Behavior & Socialization) Program, as well as leading playgroups for the shelter dogs, which gave them a chance to interact/play with other dogs. She also dabbled in the field of criminology and committed a few years in volunteer roles with the Seattle Police Department's Domestic Violence Victim Support (VST) team and as a case worker for the Probation Department in Seattle.
Faith managed a dog training facility called Seattle Dogworks in Seattle, USA; teaching group classes and consulting with private clients prior to relocating to Silicon Valley (CA) in 2011. In 2017 with her husband and son she relocated back to Australia.

She is in the process of earning her Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services with the Delta Institute. She works part-time at the Pet Behaviour Vet with a wonderful group of professionals. Faith currently lives in Roseville with her husband, active child, two goldfish; Kyoga & Harry Potter and a deaf English Staffordshire Terrier called Ziggy. When not observing or training dogs, she can be found in her garden, relaxing with a good book or dabbling in the stock market.
